3 Shoe Styles That Just Don’t Work With Short Skirts

April 12 2012  BY  Andrea

Yesterday we featured 5 shoe styles that work really well with short skirts; so we decided to take it a step further and discuss the shoe styles that you should typically avoid when wearing short skirts or minis. Take a second and check out the three main styles to avoid when rocking a mini. We’ll explain why they just don’t work.

1. Ankle Boots – Unless you really love your legs and/or choose the perfect style, ankle boots can look silly with short skirts. Especially chunky platform styles like this example. If you do want to show off your stems with a pair of ankle boots and a short skirt opt for a short cowboy boot style or a flat, low profile option.

2. Sky High Stilettos – a super short skirt is sexy enough on its own. Adding a pair of sky high stiletto sandals like these is just a bit too much ‘Va-va-voom’ for most ladies to handle. Opt for a thicker heel and a sturdier style if you must go for a tall heel.

3. Platform Pumps – Platform pumps fall into the same category as other super high heeled styles. The chunky platform and super high heel of this pair would be way too over the top. If you want to wear a pump with a shorter skirt keep it platform-less and keep the heel at a medium height or less.

So now that you know what shoes to rock with your minis, as well as those to avoid, you’ll be ready to sport plenty of cute skirt styles this spring and summer!
