Pick of the Day: ONE TEASPOON Dreamer Maxi

I’m a big fan of obi belts. I think they flatter the female shape really well – accentuating the midsection and giving you a more defined form. That said, here’s a wonderful maxi that reminds me of an obi belt – the Dreamer Maxi from ONE TEASPOON. It’s a high waisted piece that features a wide band and two sashes that you can tie into a ribbon, much like you would an obi belt. And because it’s cut high, wearing it will make you look taller even if you pair it with flats – something I welcome with open arms since I’m pretty small and short.

What do you think so far?

Because of the material, I see this skirt as a more casual piece, more of lounge and resort rather than cocktail or dressy. All you need with this skirt is a fitted tank or a sheer white button down and you’re good to go. You can opt to layer it with other pieces but bear in mind that because it’s a fully shirred skirt, it might have the tendency to make you look full and frumpy so style it with care. My recommendation, keep everything tucked under it or cropped (showing the waist). Of course, if you want to wear it your way, you are more than welcome.
